Our Real Estate Associates
Dean Neer was born--oh some time
ago--in Modoc County. He graduated with an BA and MBA from Stanford
University and served in city government in Santa Barbara before returning
to Modoc to help out his dad, a cattle rancher. He just never left; instead,
he earned his broker's license and joined Pit River Realty in 1963. He
opened Dean Neer Realty in 1980 and bought Modoc Realty in 2000. He and his
wife Marie also raised registered Hereford cattle on their ranch just east of
Alturas before retiring from the business, selling the beautiful herd in 2008 to
long time Modoc rancher, Paul DeForest.
On Dean's lap is his great
friend, Kinklebean. Dean's real estate license is CRL# 00331407

Tracy McPeek, our
newest sales associate, joined Dean Neer Modoc Realty in May 2010.
Tracy is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and has
Associate of Science degrees in Administration of Justice, Drug and Alcohol
Counseling and Human Services. Tracy, her husband Jay,
and two children--Haley and Taylor-- moved to Alturas several years ago
when Jay gained an assignment with the California Highway Patrol here.
Jay works with the canine unit of the CHP and is very fond of his CHP dog. Both
Haley and Taylor are active in sports, school, and community activities.
The McPeeks share their home with two dogs (three, including Jay's
partner dog)
and one cat.

training in real estate, Tracy likes to do beadwork for gifts and for
sale. CRL # 01884757

| When Dean Neer Modoc Realty
joined the information era and built a website, Marie was drafted to
design and maintain it. She took on the project, eager to
learn a new skill, and bumbled her way through for months, and now
years. She enjoys the challenge. She also
likes to read, draw, garden, with roses and irises being her great
passions. She loves her dogs, cats, peacocks, and chickens, as well
as the occasional spider she tolerates in the house, rationalizing that
they grab the flies and mosquitoes that find their way in.
Recently retired from a 37 year career of teaching, she loves keeping in
touch with former students. She misses the joy of teaching high
school English. Marie is now Office Manager of Dean Neer Modoc
Realty and is putting her heart into updating computers, printers, and
software. Marie and Dean have been married, ummmm,
nearly 40 years, and plan to make it much longer.
It must be said that her other great time-consuming passion is the music
of Mark Knopfler.
In fact, you can get there from here!

Lizzie, our Aussie, comes
from
Kantera Aussies in
Oregon. She is spunky and sassy and certainly lets you know she is
around the place. You can see Lizzie at the office most days during
the
week. |
Cruiser, also an
Australian Shepherd, was born in Idaho at
Akilah Aussies. Our mellow little guy got his name because he
just cruises around, saying hi to everyone. Cruiser spends most days at
the office with Dean and Marie. After several years, Marie still
checks in with Sue, his breeder to let her know how he's doing. |
